So I want to make a quick announement that I am participating in the Tome Topple Readathon again. This will be my second time taking part in the readathon and I am very excited.
This is hosted by Sam from Thoughts On Tomes both on Youtube and Twitter and it is also co-hosted by Sarah Jane from Booklifesj, Catrina from Little Book Owl, Adriana from Perpetual Pages, Sian from Readers Rambles and Sam from Will Read For Booze.
This starts on the 13th of April (Starts at Midnight) to 26th of April (Ends at 11.59pm).
I have to admit this is probably a very ambitious TBR because the reason being is so that it gives me options to choose what I want to read. The beginning of this year did not start the way how I hoped it would be, I have read more books in March than January and February combined and now we are a quarter away through the year and I really feel that I should get my butt going.
There are some promts that you could use if you are participating but I am only picking out books that I am really interested in reading or have been on my shelf for more than one year. I have recently gotten into reading Manga and I have picked out a few that I would like to get to.
FullMetal Alchemist Vol 1-3: This is a Manga and Anime that I have been seeing quite a lot of, as far as I know, this series follows two brothers living in a world of magic while one has a metal arm and leg and the other has a metal body. I am going in blind as I have not seen the Anime so I am curious as to the popularity of this series.
Fairy Tail: I started watching the anime years ago and I stopped watching it for a while and forgot about it. I am currently watching the anime again because I feel like in the mood to binge something and this anime is perfect being that it has been on for so long although I know that many people are not happy with how the series ended. So this edition is the Master’s Edition which has Volumes 1-5 and the entire book is about less than 1000 pages, although I will have to admit I really like how large and floppy this book is.
Cardcaptor Sakura Book 2: This was my childhood, I used to watch this when I came home from school. I thought it was ausome. I have already read the first book last week and I decided to buy the remaining books of the series.
And onto the fiction books
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang: I got this book because I kept seeing it on my recommendations on Scribed and I decided to get the book and thought it would be good to listen to the audiobook. All I know about this book is that it’s set in China and involving Shamins. I honestly do not know about it and yet I bought this book at the end of last year. *sigh*
The Ashes of London by Andrew Taylor: I had seen this book countless of times whenever I went into Waterstones. It is a mystery book set in the 1600’s of London with a body being discovered after The Great Fire. I also have the audiobook on Scribed, if I ever want to not read the book.
Tatiana and Alexander by Paullina Simmons: I have had this book on my shelves for three years now. It has been sitting on my shelves for soo long that I actually forgot that I had it. I adored The Bronze Horseman and devoured it so quickly yet after finishing the book, I think I just needed some time to pick up the next one after what happened in the last couple of chapters. I would have to say three years is enough.
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare: This is actually a bonus book I had no intention of picking it up but as I was clearing out some space for my growing Manga collection, I found out that this book was over 500 pages and just added it onto the pile as a maybe. I really liked Clockwork Angel and I found it to be a lot more enjoyable than TMI series (I have only read three books out of six tho), I think the setting of Victorian England was the benefit of me enjoying the book.
So that concludes my TBR for the TomeTopple, it’s very ambitious but I feel that I would get through some of it.
See you next time.
