Hey everyone,

I’m sorry that this has taken me a month to come back, I have not been in the mood to do any blog posts, so I ended up taking a little break and just read a lot. I also celebrated being a year older a couple of weeks ago, I am now 26 which is strange because I think my mind is a lot more younger than that. I didn’t get much just some money from family, and I’ll end up slurging it on things for Spain.

I don’t know if I have mentioned it or not but I have plans to go to Granada, Spain at the end of September and I am excited. I have a few places that I want to go to but I am more interested in just visiting a place that I have never been to before. If you have gone to Granada or somewhere in Spain, any recomendations to visit or eat and even traveling tips for just one person traveling.

So because it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago I thought I would do a book tag to warm myself back into blogging even though the current weather in England has been glorious apart from being stuck inside at work.

Birthday Cake – a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway.

The Georgia Nicolson Series by Louise Rennison. This series was my teen life, I grew with Georgia and her friends with their weird lingo and crazy antics. So if I was ever in the mood to read something cliche, it would be this series.

Party Guests – your most anticipated book release this year

Obviously Darkdawn, with only two months to go until it’s release. The hype is real, I hope the book releases before I leave the country because I would love to take it with me and slurge my Instagram feed with Darkdawn at the Alhambra because that would be a sick place for a TV series.

Also an Australian Booktuber named Piera Forde is currently working on a Nevernight TV series, three episodes have only been made and they have started a Kickstarter to raise enough money to continue with the remaining seven episodes that they want to make. I do have intentions to donate, I just have to wait until payday in order to do that.

Birthday Presents – a book that surprised you with how much you loved it

The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter by Theodora Goss.

If you love Victorian Literature and mystery, then this book is perfect. It surprised me with the moulding of all Victorian Literature characters in this book while making a unique story plot. There is a lot of humor and also the bondness of all the female characters.

The Happy Birthday Song – a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got

Initionally I was going to say Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins-Reid but the one that should deserve the hype is The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. This book deserves some more love because it is absolutely brilliant.

Happy Music – a book with some very beautiful and truely memerable quotes

Omens by Kelley Armstrong

I am re-reading this book actually. I read this book three years ago as part of the Slowathon in September, I went through this book really quickly than I planned and now three years later I am reading it again and annotating it as well. I am really enjoying it. There are some really good lines from Liv and a few other characters. But the one I really like is in the last chapter of the book.

“Life had taught him that people were resources to be exploited and used. That’s what I saw in his eyes. That was the emptiness. An inability to form the kind of basic human connection I’d need from a lover. Maybe someone, someday could break through, but I wasn’t naive enough – or arrogant enough – to think it would be me.”

Getting Older – a book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read it as a more mature reader

Dracula by Bram Stoker.

I tried to read this book back when I was in Secondary school but I think I got distracted and returned the book back to the Library. I would like to read this book again but I’ve been too reluctant to start. So “hopefully” I will pick this book up sometime this year 🤞.

Sweet Birthday Memories – a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life

I guess it would have to be romance novels that I get on my kindle. They are always a good smutty book that could cheer me up, with some humour, love and of course the multiple sex scenes.

And that conludes this tag. I hope you are trying to soak in as much sun as you can before it goes away and I hope to see you next week.

xx
