Thoughts

This was such a challenge for me, it took me nearly three months to finally finish it. Now I do think the second book was better than the first, the reason why it took so long for me was because I got distracted and left it on the side as a reminder. It wasn’t until the end of the year, to decide to finish the book whether it was physically or by the audiobook. I found the audiobook to be fun but while some chapters were long, it felt longer while listening so I might decide not to use the audiobook when I pick up the third book.

Rand had such an interesting development in this book. While in his own mental conflict of being the Dragon, his feelings for Egwene and protecting his friends. But I also like how he felt uncomfortable in many situations he was in, denying who he is, being pushed in front to be the person in charge and it looks like he has to follow the patriachy in a way because he has to because of what he is. But I liked at the end of the book, he finally accepted it in some sort of way, I am being ambitious and I know I have so much material to get into.

I have seen the tv series on Amazon, there were some great episodes and the ending felt very meh. While reading the second half of the book, I was able to pick up things that I remembered from the TV show and I really enjoyed learning more of the world Robert Jordan created.

I really liked the development of all the characters and look forward to discovering more but knowing that there is 13 more books to read, I might have to make notes to look back and understand the reference. I am curious as to how it will turn out, I want Rand to be more confident, Perrin to not hide what he is becoming, Egwene to become more of a woman in charge and to learn more about the Aes Sedai, I feel like it have touched the surface of the water when it comes to the Aes Sedai.

Have you read The Wheel of Time? Which one do you think I will like the most?

Happy Reading xx
